I became a new father less than 48 hours ago, and already I was being ripped away from my new family to go right back to work.

To this day, I'll never forgive myself for what I did.

I handed my new daughter back to the nurse (my wife needed some rest), and I grabbed my laptop...

As I approached the doorway, I turned back one last time. Glancing at my wife and new daughter, I resolved at that moment that this would not be my future.

I gripped my laptop, wiped a tear from my eye, and left to go do my job.
